Julio César Sánchez Matos, known as Julsan, is a Puerto Rican–Dominican artist whose work blends cultural heritage with bold mixed-media portraiture. After turning to painting as therapy in 2000, he emerged on Miami’s Calle 8 scene and became a key figure in Orlando’s art community. Known for his portraits of women and Taino figures on hardwood, Julsan’s dimensional style has been featured in galleries, cultural institutions, and publications across Florida and the Dominican Republic.
